Ticking the "I'm not a robot" checkbox is a thing of the past for your website. We have upgraded all our sites to use Google's Invisible reCAPTCHA service, which is able to differentiate humans from bots without additional input from the website user.
reCAPTCHA is a free service that protects your website from spam and abuse. reCAPTCHA uses an advanced risk analysis engine and adaptive CAPTCHAs to keep automated software from engaging in abusive activities on your site. It does this while letting your valid users pass through with ease.
The Invisible reCAPTCHA service from Google uses data about how a user is interacting with a page to determine if they are a bot or a human. Things like, "how fast did you fill out the form?" No check boxes needed. Sometimes reCaptcha isn't clear about whether it has a bot or a human. In that case, the invisible captcha falls back on the old strategy of humans identifying pictures.
If reCAPTCHA isn't keeping the spam form and comment submissions at bay - or if you have other concerns about using the Google-owned reCAPTCHA, then we'll upgrade you to hCaptcha. hCaptcha is a great new solution that many people find is more effective at filtering out the bots.
